Engineering solutions innovations and discoveries

Since 1934, the Georgia Tech Research Institute and its predecessor, the State Engineering Experiment Station, have applied the principles of science — along with disciplined inquiry, curiosity, persistence, and old-fashioned hard work — to solving complex problems.

Sometimes the solution to one problem suggests the answer to another. Or a discovery reveals an entirely new way of thinking, sparking a chain of innovation that far surpasses the original question.

GTRI engineers don't just find answers; they put those answers to work, whether it’s the basic science behind atomic collisions, watching out for children through the AMBER Alert, keeping our country safe with electronic defense and millimeter wave technology, or fighting air pollution.
