In 1976, the Agency for International Development contracted with EES to field test n AID/Battelle hand-operated water pump in Costa Rica.
In 1989, GTRI engineers assisted the U.S. Air Force with converting a huge test collinator at Wright Patterson Air Force Base into the world's largest light detection and ranging system (LIDAR).
In 2008, GTRI won a contract to support development of a roadmap designed to improve the testing and evaluation of unmanned and autonomous systems for the U.S. Office of the Secretary of Defense.
In just two months, GTRI researchers developed a working prototype device that provided a critical upgrade to a military aircraft missile warning system. Similar projects would normally require a year to complete, 2006.
